Reflection Report for Week 4 of SCSH 1201 Sustainable Development: International Framework Sustainable Development.
This week's topic covers significant conventions, declarations, agreements, and frameworks for sustainable development. It also investigates the notion of Sejahtera and its local application. This chapter also discusses the history of global environmental initiatives, noting key conferences such as the 1972 United Nations Conference on the Human Environment in Stockholm and the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg. These conferences sought to address environmental issues, enhance people's lives, and conserve natural resources. Sejahtera is defined as a comprehensive approach to well-being that considers ethical, spiritual, emotional, cultural, sociological, intellectual, cognitive, and economic factors. It stresses balance, moderation, and satisfaction in many facets of life. The paper also discusses the significance of faith, morality, leadership, education, and the notion of ummah in obtaining genuine well-being and pleasure.
