Reflection Report for Week 2 of SCSH 1201 Sustainable Development : Islam and Sustainable Development.
In this topic of Islam & Sustainable Development, it investigates the notion of sustainable development within an Islamic context. We learnt to explores Islamic sustainable development ideas and techniques, such as social, environmental, and economic sustainability. The session emphasizes the necessity of justice, balance, kindness, trustworthiness, and custodianship in ensuring sustainability, as per Islamic beliefs. It also highlights the significance of the Qur'an and Hadith in instructing Muslims on environmental issues, as well as instances from Prophet Mohammed's (PBUH) life that serve as models for justice and equality. Furthermore, this week's topic also describes the elements of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Islam, including justice, balance, middle ground, mercy, trustworthiness, cleanliness, truthfulness, knowledge, and usefulness.
